PROJECT VIA PROJECT VIA

The PROJECT VIA program is aimed at promoting exchange in the Korean contemporary art community by providing a useful channel for experienced visual art specialists to develop their professional networks.

Qualifications

- Art specialists who have more than 5 years of work experiences in visual arts and/or interdisciplinary arts based on visual arts.

Program

- Research Trip : Short-term travels to plan and develop initial project /exhibition ideas
· Area 01 : Free individual Research
Art specialists select one region for at least 10days of research.
· Area 02 : Group Research
Art specialists take part in a research program planned by KAMS in cooperation with overseas institutions

- Curatorial Workshop Participation
Support participation for international workshop in collaboration with overseas institutions hosted domestically and/or internationally.

- Fellowship
Support for long-term research between 3 to 6 months

Visual Arts Translation Support

Promoting Korean art and supporting international interchange through availability of high-quality translated materials to accompany expansion efforts in foreign art markets

Project Details

- Visual arts translation support : Selecting materials on Korean art (including exhibition catalogues, sourcebooks, and theoretical texts) through open call and providing assistance for translation

- Korean art e-book publication and distribution for overseas readers : Establishing theoretical foundation for international expansion of Korean art through availability of foreign-language art texts

Art Appraisal Infrastructure Project

Encouraging art ecosystem transparency and promoting Korean art by supporting the development of domestic art appraisal infrastructure

Supporting the establishment of art marketplaces at galleries, public facilities, idled sites, culture/arts streets, etc., to assist development of markets for artists' work

Approach

- Graded support for artist groups based on application and review

- Distinct from other art fairs in offering practical benefits to participating artists through payment of full art sales price

- Offering art market information services through artwork transaction information database

- Support for medium- and low-cost artwork sales to promote growth of collecting culture

- Improving purchaser satisfaction by allowing immediate transport of works upon purchase at marketplace
